The plain terms.

Short, because a page of small print helps nobody. Information here is general. Advice starts at the engagement letter.

In short

What are the terms of using this site?

Everything on this site is general information about construction financial management, not tax, legal or accounting advice for your company. Advice starts when there is an engagement letter. The WIP calculator runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

The terms

Use

This site is information. It is not advice about your company, and it does not create an engagement.

Everything published here is general information about construction financial management. Your jobs, your entity, your state and your surety all change the answer. Nothing here is tax, legal or accounting advice for your company, and reading it does not make us your accountant.

The calculator

The WIP calculator is a convenience. It runs in your browser, it sends nothing anywhere, and the answer is only as good as the cost to complete you put into it. Do not file anything off it.

When work starts

Work starts at a signed engagement letter, which sets out the scope, the tier and what each side is responsible for. Rates shown on this site are starting rates and are quoted properly in that letter.
